I think I just met my soul mate :O
“During afternoon tea there’s a shift in the air
A bone-trembling chill that tells you she’s there
There are those who believe the whole town is cursed
But the house in the marsh is by far the worst
What she wants is unknown, but she always comes back,
The spectre of darkness; the Woman in Black.”
Okay, so I don’t normally blog about Glee, but tonight I watched it with my Mom, and this seriously bugged me.
Like, really, Ryan Murphy? You let every single fucking pairing on this show kiss on the camera. You let a number of heterosexual couples kiss. You let a heterosexual couple have intercourse involving sultry lingerie and lots of kissing. You even let a lesbian couple kiss.
But two boys? Oh, god fucking forbid.
You would never even think of letting the most logical pairing on the show kiss on camera. The most on screen touching that these two did in this episode was celebrating at their competition’s win, and it was to the side of the screen and overshadowed by everybody else’s celebrations and confetti.
The only time these two have ever kissed on screen is when it advances the plot somehow. The beginning of their relationship, the episode devoted to their first time (which was really more about one of the heterosexual couple’s first time, but that’s a different issue). It has to be a device. They can’t kiss casually. They can’t just be a fucking couple. Meanwhile, Finn and Rachel never go an episode without kissing.
Glee claims to be a beacon for LGBT issues and projecting LGBT subject matter. But they have to make everything dealing with these two boys into a big deal. You want to make the world better for gay kids, Glee? Stop making it an issue. Make it normal.
So, even though I’d much rather stay up all night watching Darren Criss portray the lovely Blaine Anderson, I have to work a double tomorrow, or rather today, so I suppose I’ll do the responsible thing and call it a night. Not to mention my baby, Tarzan, has decided to call it a night and take over my bed :D Goodnight!
